Plenty of space to echo, Switzerland might just be the perfect place to do the trance sounds justice. One thing’s for sure - they’ve got the queen of trance living there. Tatana has been bringing the noise since the mid 90’s, when dance music put a never-ending spell upon her.
With DJ sets at big raves and festivals, Tatana Sterba worked herself up as a member of Switzerland’s premier trance league. It didn’t take long before she faced the next challenge, as the production side of music beckoned upon her. Taking her talent and skills to the next level, Tatana shocked the charts with ‘Dream Off’, ‘End Of Time’ and ‘Words’. Her prolific mix compilations for massive events such as Energy and the Zürich Street Parade were the first steps to world domination. Track by track and set by set her reputation grew, and her name echoed across the Swiss border. ‘Dobenbeck - Please Don’t Go’ was her latest global hit, which led to an invitation of looking after the 8th edition of the Trance World series.
If anyone knows how to handle a trance compilation, it’s Tatana. Carefully selecting the right tracks to build up and highlight the 2 disks, this lady is in full charge of things. In follow-up to previous editions with M.I.K.E., Robert Nickson, John O’Callaghan, Sean Tyas, Signum and Agnelli & Nelson, Tatana makes ‘Trance World Volume 8′ another unforgettable trip into the latest trance and progressive sounds. ‘Trance World Volume 8′ supplies you a tightly mixed upgrade on what today’s trance scene is all about.

Dash Berlin started to set things alight in early 2007, when mega-hit ‘Till The Sky Falls Down’ shattered into the many club-nights, to be followed by several successful remixes. Supported by the big DJ’s out there, Dash continued his journey in the ever-evolving dance music culture. Backed up by his legendary production team; Molijn & Kalberg, Dash Berlin is designing an ambitious and unprecedented new division in Trance, critically acclaimed as the ‘Dash Berlin Sound’. Futuristic, scintillating, but above all, moving and emotive music that relates to the universal dance floor experience, shared by innumerable music fans from multifarious cultures around the globe.
After the initial success things progressed naturally into the next big step for Dash, which was setting up his personal foundation for future music in the form of his own, freshly inaugurated imprint. Aropa Records, launched in March 2008 as an official part of the Armada Music group, kicked off with a massive collaboration with Cerf, Mitiska and Jaren on the international Trance anthem ‘Man On The Run’. The creation of a full Dash Berlin album was the next logical step for the energetic Dutch DJ.
So here it is, ‘The New Daylight’. The album is an ode to all the people worldwide who have been supporting him and the scene in general. According to Dash, it’s not about the DJ, it’s about the people that live and breathe the music. “There is no Dash Berlin without them”, he says humbly.
It’s that universal, hopeful feeling, a feeling of togetherness and unity that is the main inspiration for the album. “I’m optimistic about the world and the future”, Dash says, “people are sharing so much knowledge and information nowadays, we are getting wiser with every new daylight”.

RSEMIX - Rain Stars Eternal Remixed
Sherlock Holmes had Dr Watson, steak’s got chips and Posh has Becks (well most of the time anyway!). Yes indeed, everyone and everything in life needs a companion. ‘Rain Stars Eternal’ is no exception and with that in mind Solarstone has spent the last 5 months summoning a mighty wind of remixers to reinterpret his 2008 studio album. On the 24th of October the fruit of all that work will hit record retailers and download stores in the form of RSEMIX! Packed to its 80 minute limits, it contains dancefloor-slaying reconfigurations from the likes of Ferry Corsten, Probspot, Jaksaw, Update Project, Pedro del Mar & DJ Cosmo and Bissen.
If you’re reading above and have heard forum-talk of a remix that’s not mentioned, fear not! RSEMIX will be completed by a download-only version that will include additional reworks from Randy Boyer and Kristina Sky, Forerunners, Heatbeat, Tasadi, Nick Rowland, Jule Bricks and Monolythe.
You can pre-order your copy (signed by the fair hand of Solarstone) now by hitting the SolarShop, and read about every minutae detail of RSEMIX on Trance.nu. Last and by no means least, you can follow the countdown to its release on YouTube’s Solarstonetube channel, which will be hosting a video of each track going up everyday in the run-up to release. Its like a cinematic advent calendar, but a-religious, nothing to do with Christmas and much more fun!

It’s quick & easy, something to do while your boss’s back is turned, and your feedback is given entirely anonymously. Once you’ve completed it, well… we’d like to reward your effort. You’ll be able to download an exclusive, white-hot mp3 package, which includes 3 tracks from RainStarsEternal’s expanded universe. Hit the survey page now and start telling us… what you think! |
solarSwarm Update
solarSwarm, the world’s first social network record label, has wasted no time in getting their new imprint into the thick of the action. The collective have decided on, and signed their first two tracks (a progressive chugger from Adam Fielding and a big euphoric uplifter from Electronic Architecture alumni Solar Energy) and the forum is now voting on which production maestros will be set to work reworking them. The label’s image and logo has also been selected and work is fast underway on the solarSwarm website.
If you’d like to become a member of this incredibly exciting and ground-breaking label, just shoot an e-mail over to solarSwarm@solarstone.co.uk telling us why! |
